Pier Top is a rotating rooftop lounge perched atop a hotel at 2301 SE 17th St in Fort Lauderdale, drawing a mix of tourists and dressed-up locals for sunset cocktails and late-night DJ sets. The room completes a full rotation roughly every 66 minutes, giving every seat a slow-moving panorama of the Fort Lauderdale skyline, Intracoastal waterways, and the Atlantic beyond. It is one of the few revolving bar experiences in South Florida, and the view alone makes it a destination.

The drink program leans toward craft cocktails and an extensive wine list. Espresso Martinis are a crowd favorite, and the bartenders – Fernando gets regular shoutouts – mix drinks in front of you and offer solid recommendations. The food menu is intentionally limited: think small plates and bar bites like bao buns, tuna tataki, and pizza chips rather than full entrees. Guests generally come for drinks first and food second, so set your expectations accordingly.

A dress code is enforced – men cannot wear sneakers, and several visitors have been turned away for not meeting it. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially on Fridays and Saturdays when the lounge fills quickly. Walk-ins can sometimes grab standing cocktail tables in the center if they arrive right at opening, but seated perimeter spots with the rotating view require a booking. Valet parking is available through the hotel.

The vibe is trendy and a touch upscale without being stiff. A resident DJ sets the mood most nights, and the crowd skews toward couples on date nights, friend groups celebrating occasions, and hotel guests looking for something memorable. Pier Top is open only Thursday through Sunday, so plan ahead. Pricing runs higher than a typical Fort Lauderdale bar, but most visitors consider it worthwhile for a special night out with an unmatched vantage point.
